A month after the handball player Marian Cozma, his family and some of his former colleagues of the handball club Dinamo started the LOVE 8 campaign against violence. On Saturday night at 01.00, several clubs in Romania, Hungary, Serbia and Croatia broadcasted a film featuring Marian Cozma.
After the handball game of Dinamo and Steaua, the players of the teams met in a club in Bucharest, in order to start the campaign against violence in sport.
“Our children and successors in sports must understand that violence leads to no good. First of all, we are parents and we want a better world for our children and for ourselves,” one of the organizers declared.
The name of the campaign is closely connected to the number eight: September 8 was the date of Marian Cozma’s death, February 8 was the date of his birth and he had worn T-Shirt No. 8 at MKB Veszprem. Marian Cozma lost his life a month ago as he was lethally stabbed in his heart, in a club in Veszprem.
